Antique Victorian Ruby and Seed Pearl Fringe Earrings
About the Item
Take a cruise on the River Thames, the river where the seed pearls that make the fringe of these earrings originate. Who did the selection, matching and beading of this tiny pearls? Much of this had to be women's hands as they were small and able to do fine jobs. Men could likely do selecting and separating the pearls with a tool but the beading, I am certain not. the crown of the earrings is set with rubies. The earrings are light in weight. Any age woman can wear these. c. 1870. Excellent condition.
