About Gilbert Albert
In 1955, at only 25 years of age he joined the Patek Philippe workshops and soon became the head of the creative department. At this time, Patek Philippe was under the adventurous guidance of Henri Stern, himself a talented artist who took something of a gamble nurturing the
avant-garde design sensibility of the young jewelry designer Albert.
By the turn of the 1960s, Gilbert Albert was focusing on his true love, jewelry. Here his creativity knew no bounds, he would see beauty where no one else would. He reveled in using unusual materials such as meteorites and fossils, contrasting these rough materials with highly polished or textured gold, with a sprinkling of more traditional gemstones such as rubies, emeralds and diamonds. As always, he drew inspiration from nature: he would see a shell and see something precious to be replicated in a watch. He would see textures and lines in a meteorite and treat them in the same way as a precious stone. He even used fur to create straps. Such inspiration fueled an extraordinary array of jeweled watches...

Contemporary Beatrice Barzaghi Rutilated Quartz Yellow Gold Grounding Necklace is a powerful healing talisman which proved to be very effective on Giovanni Gesaldi energetic inbalances. Few months after wearing his talisman, created according to the result of the kinesiology test of gems, Giovanni reported that recurring fevers ended.
The Giovanni grounding pendant necklace is made of 18 karat yellow gold and features an oval cabochon cut rutilated quartz. Its weight is 24.2 carats and measures 18.6 by 14.8 by 11.5 mm. The total weight of the necklace is 8.65 grams. The pendant is modeled by hand in wax by Italian designer and gemologist (GIA G.G.) Beatrice Barzaghi, then fused in gold, set and polished by hand by the best Italian goldsmiths. The length of the necklace is 42 centimeters.
The Giovanni necklace was specially made for the person who gave the necklace its name: Giovanni Gesaldi. This is the reason why the back bears a double "G". I modeled the back of the pendant in a convex shape so that it can tilt from side to side according to the movement of the body and the gem captures and reflects more light. The shape of the pendant is asymmetrical and symbolizes the possibility to discover Beauty outside of the classical schemes; it suggests appreciating the unexpected in life. The necklace’s lines shaped in wax are material and reconnect the wearer to rooting to the Earth.

The Giovanni necklace, like all my jewels, is conceived as an energetic object, helping the wearer to develop the talents with which he or she was born. Gems and metals form deep into Mother Earth and because of extremely high temperatures and pressure they became energy accumulators, thus they affect the person wearing them.
Energies and vibrations of gems are powerful and I proved it with an experiment held in February 2021 conducted by Professor of anatomy Claudia Dellavia of the University of Milan (please contact me for more details).
The Giovanni necklace belongs to the Struggle Collection; it is modeled by lost wax technique, represents the worldly and human element, the complexity of the daily quest. While the Enlightenment Collection is modeled by CAD and represents the divine sparkle that shines through Humanity, the Celestial Spheres, the reaching of Enlightenment. The Essence Collection, is modeled by both CAD and lost wax technique and merges their meanings: it represents the path to fulfill human gifts through Matter.
All gems and metals need to be energetically cleansed once a month by leaving them in running water for 5 minutes or by keeping them next to a rock crystal overnight.

Vintage Choker Necklaces
Vintage choker necklaces are elegant, alluring and stylish. Cameos, pearls, diamonds and other stones can decorate these necklaces, which come in single or multiple strands. Whether it is a statement piece or a delicate chain, these short necklaces always stand out and turn heads.
The history of the choker can be traced back thousands of years, with Sumerian examples discovered from 2600–2500 B.C. They endured as a popular form of adornment through the centuries, and during the French Revolution they took on a symbolic significance. Women wore ribbons around their throats to mark the passing of those killed by the guillotine. Soon, the plain ribbons were adorned with small cameos and other ornamentation.
European choker necklaces gained a salacious reputation in the 19th century when prostitutes were associated with black ribbons tied around the neck, such as the model in Édouard Manet’s Olympia (1863). Queen Alexandra, Princess of Wales, reversed the trend in the late 19th century by wearing a large pearl and diamond choker, reputedly to hide a scar.
Fashioned from gold, pearls and other precious stones and metals, chokers continued to be worn into the 20th century, alternately statements of wealth and rebellion. They experienced periods of revival in the 1920s, ’40s, ’70s and ’90s for both men and women.
