About the Item

An Important Art Deco diamond-set sautoir, the necklace with rectangular and circular links, all set with old brilliant and swiss-cut diamonds, suspending a pendant centrally-set with a transition brilliant-cut diamond estimated to weigh 1.5 carats, assessed colour I and clarity VS1, to an openwork surround of geometric design, set with baguette, transition and swiss-cut diamonds, the diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 46 carats, all set in platinum mount, circa 1925, measuring approximately 78.5 cm long, gross weight 122.4 grams, converting to a shorter necklace accompanied by a pair of matching bracelets. This stunning sautoir embodies Art Deco elegance and glamour. This piece features both angular and rounded links created from platinum and set with lively diamonds. The links form a long necklace with a dramatic central pendant. The necklace can ingeniously transform from the long necklace into a shorter necklace and two matching bracelets with a simple clasp mechanism. This allows this magnificent piece to be worn in a variety of ways to a range of different occasions. This unique and gorgeous piece comes from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This vintage necklace is in excellent condition for its age. Unmarked, tested as platinum, with 18ct gold fittings.
