About the Item
Collectible Antique French festoon Necklace with foiled glass paste stones and bresse enamel cabs set on an ornate gold gilded brass panels with light enamel work .
Bresse enamel or emaux enamel has a distinctive beauty ,it used to be done in a district of eastern France called Bourg en Bresses .The enameler did not work directly on the finish product ,but created individual plaques in various colors of enamel by building up the surface with separate drop of enamel colors and gold leaf and creating different shapes/patterns , they often added tiny stones on the top to create a rich multi textured effect .
