Ancient Greek 4th Century Bc Alexander the Great Zeus Coin 18k Gold Pendant

About the Item

A top grade, "as struck", authentic ancient silver "drachm" coin displaying the Greek god of Zeus seated on his throne holding an eagle on his arm is set in a Steven Battelle designed opposing doubled wire spirals with granulation handmade pendant design with 1.8 mm VS1 accent diamond on the bail. The coin is from approximately 310-301 BC, struck after Alexander's death. The other side features the young Hercules clad in the lion skin cape he acquired from slaying the Nemian lion (one of the 10 labors of Hercules). This particular type of coin was established by Alexander the Great and continued to be minted for up to a hundred years after his death. It was approximately the daily wage for a skilled worker or soldier. This pendant comes with a laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The handmade hammered chain shown is not included but can be provided additionally. We discount chains 20% when ordered with a pendant.
