About the Item
Magnificent extremely rare double-sided carved lapis lazuli cameo pendant. The exquisite carving is mounted in a fine 18K gold frame that is decorated with chiselled acanthus leaves. Back and front show two different mythological themes. One side shows "The deserted Ariadne on Naxos", the reverse "The wedding of Bacchus with Ariadne".
There are two independent gemological certificates stating that the stone is a natural lapis lazuli.
