Argentina 1826 Silver Sun-Face Coin Diamond 18k Gold Pendant
About the Item
An interesting and rare silver 2 "soles" coin from pre-Argentina Spanish colonial times has a depiction of the sun's face as the primary motif. "Rio de la Plata" is the river in South America that exits near Buenos Aires in what is now the country of Argentina. In the period before the establishment of Argentina in 1861, the region was a Spanish Viceroyship under the name: Viceroyalty of the Rio de la Plata. The sun is the national symbol of Argentina. It commemorates the appearance of the sun on May 25, 1818 when the first mass demonstration in favor of independence occurred. This coin is set within a classic 18K twist wire handmade bezel. This coin was holed previously long ago, and we set a small VS1 diamond in the hole as accent. It is sent with a laminated coin certificate of authenticity. The 18K handmade hammered chain is not included but can be ordered additionally. It comes in 18, 20 and 24 inch lengths. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with a pendant. Interesting!
