THIS IS AN ANTIQUE VICTORIAN - ART NOUVEAU LAVALIERE PENDANT OR BROOCH IN THE FORM OF AN ORCHID FLOWER. THE ORCHID IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING WITH THE MOST SPECTACULAR MULTI-HUED LAVENDER, PURPLE, AND PINK DETAILED ENAMEL OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY SET WITH AN ANTIQUE PEARL OF GREAT BEAUTY IN THE BEAUTIFUL FULLY THREE DIMENSIONAL FLOWER DESIGN IN 10 - 14 KARAT GOLD. THE FLOWER IS HAND PAINTED WITH WONDERFUL SUBTLE COLOR VARIATION AND BEAUTIFUL VEINING THROUGHOUT. THE THREE DIMENSIONALITY OF THE FLOWER IS MAGNIFICENT. THE FLOWER DATES TO CIRCA 1880-1910. DURING THE VICTORIAN AND ART NOUVEAU PERIODS NATURE INSPIRED JEWELS WERE ALL THE RAGE AS THEY ARE TODAY! THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL FLOWER JEWELS WE HAVE SEEN AND ARE SO THRILLED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER IT TODAY.
The jewel has a swivel pendant bale that can be lowered so to be invisible when the piece is worn as a brooch.
The pendant is 1 1/2 inches (38mm) tall including the bale and 1 1/4 inches (30mm) wide. Without the bale the flower is 33mm tall.
The flower tests for 14 Karat Gold, the pin stem tests for 10 Karat Gold.
