"Seal" Gold Fob with 11 Carat Aquamarine Cabochon on Zircon & Moonstone Chain
About the Item
Eytan Brandes cast an old bronze seal in 14 karat yellow gold and converted it to a pendant, holding an oval cabochon of natural stormy blue aquamarine. It hangs on a shimmery necklace of blue and grey beads -- a twilight mixture of moonstone and zircon.
The stone is from Madagascar and has the distinctive smoky and thready look of untreated aquamarine from this relatively new source. It measures 15mm x 12.5mm and weighs 11.4 carats.
The stone is girded by a rose gold bezel which has been soldered into the opening of the "seal."
The pendant is 1-1/8" long. The necklace is a string of 3.5mm faceted beads -- grey moonstone and blue zircon. It is 18" long and has a 14 karat gold sister lock closure.
This necklace weighs 22 grams.
Note: The pendant's bale is sized to be a tight fit around the beads, so the pendant can't be removed from the chain without cutting the chain. However, we can sell the pendant without the chain, if you prefer. Contact us for adjusted pricing, options and timing.

These mice are based on an antique silver charm that we've had in the store for a while. The silver version had a rock crystal bead for a body and no tail, but we thought he would be a great delivery system for pearls. The pearls are smallish Tahitians and in an unusual silver-blue shade you'd more likely associate with Akoya pearls. They're from our trusted pearl dealer, George Hajjar of Seven Seas Pearls with offices in Tokyo and Los Angeles. Mr. Hajjar deals only with saltwater pearls (Akoya, South Sea and Tahitian), and he only deals directly with the pearl farms, so we always know we're getting the real deal. The pearls are baroque in shape and measure 9mm and 11.3mm in diameter. They both show great color and luster, plus some natural flaws -- a few dents, lumps and bumps and a circle (on the larger pearl) but no off-color pits or dull spots.
