Steven Battelle Sinkote-Alin Meteorite Diamond 18K Gold Pendant
About the Item
A somewhat irregular 11 x 19 mm irregular shaped fragment of Sinkote-Alin meteorite with a fusion crust from its flaming entry through the atmosphere is set in simple matte-finish 18K gold bezel with a 1.8 mm VS1 diamond accent below. A large iron meteorite fell on the Sikhote-Alin Mountains, in southeastern Russia, in 1947. Meteorite falls had been witnessed and fragments recovered before, but never of this magnitude. A total of 24 tons was recovered. This fragment has made yet another transformation into this beautiful pendant. The 18K handmade hammered chain shown is not included, but can be ordered additionally. It comes in 18”, 20”, and 24” lengths. We discount our chains 20% when ordered with a pendant.

Steven Battelle
After a chance trip to SouthEast Asia in 1987, Steven Battelle became fascinated with the jewelry and iconology from the ancient cultures of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Asia. Eventually forming a partnership with a dedicated group of Balinese village goldsmiths using painstaking handmade techniques, they together create unique designs that incorporate those timeless and classic motifs. He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age.
