Indulge in this rare romantic Antique Victorian Pyrite Druzy Pendant Necklace or Brooch in the form of a Lyre Harp surrounded by a Laurel Wreath with a Clover pendant drop. The brooch is a tribute to the Greek God Apollo. The pendant or brooch is gold-filled and dates to the 19th Century. It is very rare to find antique Victorian druzy pieces and this one is an absolute treasure. The magnificent Victorian pendant is centered with a gorgeous lyre harp motif. The lyre, the laurel leaves and the three leaf clover are all set with Druzy Pyrite. Pyrite is also known as Fool's Gold. The druzy form refers to the gorgeous crystalline formation of the gem. The early jewel is rare and just wonderful. It is beautifully made. The lyre reflects the ancient wisdom of Apollo and symbolized wisdom and moderation to the Greeks. The laurel wreath is the ancient Greek symbol of triumph and was worn by Apollo. Thus the jewel represents a fascinating tribute to Apollo.
The jewel is gold filled. The pendant has its original pin stem and early C-clasp to be won as a brooch if desired. The pendant is a wonderful large size, 2 1/2 inches long. It is a dramatic statement piece to be worn with joy and to be passed on for generations.
LYRE
As an attribute of Apollo, the god of prophecy and music, the lyre to the ancient Greeks symbolized wisdom and moderation.
LAUREL WREATH
In Greek mythology, the god Apollo, who is patron of lyrical poetry, musical performance, and skill-based athletics, is conventionally depicted wearing a laurel wreath on his head in all three roles.
PYRITE DRUZY
“Druzy” refers to gemstones coating a stone in tiny, glittering crystal clusters or crusts. Pyrite is an astrological stone. The golden gem is a zodiac stone for Leo, as well as a star stone for the sun and Mercury.

A druzy stone is a natural rock that has formed a sparkling layer of tiny mineral crystals, most commonly quartz, on its surface over millions of years due to water evaporation. This crystalline coating creates a distinctive sugar-like or glittery appearance, giving the stone a natural sparkle and a unique, one-of-a-kind texture.
The pendant without the bales is 2 1/8 inches (5.5 cm) tall and 1 3/4 inches (4.3 cm) wide.
The pendant is gold-filled.

This is a rare museum quality early Rose Cut Diamond Pendant dating to the Georgian Era set with an abundance of antique Rose Cut Diamonds set in silver atop 14 Karat gold as was the custom of the period. The pendant of great beauty and dating to the 1700s.
Diamonds were all the rage in the Georgian period and this is a wonderful example. Early pieces such as this are extremely difficult to find. This one is so immensely wearable as the size is just perfect for wearing either day or night. It has stunning period character and style.
The pendant is 68 mm (2 3/4 inches) long from the top of the bale to the bottom of the pendant. Without the bale it is 58 mm long. It is 45 mm (1 3/4 inches) wide at the widest point.
The rose cut diamonds are set in silver collets atop 14 Karat gold.
The gold bale is a later addition.
There has been some restoration of the pendant as is visible from the back - this is very typical of the early Georgian jewels...
