Tested yellow gold, approximately 7.81 grams in weight, circa late 17th-early 18th century. This ring is near identical (apart from the use of an S for a C) to that found on a plain posy ring held by the British Museum (BM accession number: AF:13338) and numerous examples published by Evans (1931: 73-4).
