About the Item
SUMMER SALE - 25% OFF ONE OF OUR FAVORITE GEORGE SAWYER MOKUME RINGS!! A striking round edge wedding band by George Sawyer in the traditional Mokume style. This dramatic 8 mm ring features 14K rose gold edges surrounding a sterling silver & etched copper design. Style number is R7C. INTERIOR STAMP reads " 14K & Ster George Sawyer © 6/09 M". The ring is size 10.5. The inclusion of the straight lines of the rounded edge lend a geometric contrast to the more random quality of the Mokume, adding a touch of formality, rather like a picture frame around a painting.
Mr. Sawyer studied the ancient Japanese art of folded and layered metal techniques and then designed his own internationally recognized signature style from his Minneapolis, Minnesota studio. His use of color and pattern creates one-of-a-kind, continuous, seamless bands that reflect his passion for jewelry as art.
