About the Item
This dramatic George Sawyer round edge 6 mm Mokume wedding band features 14K red & gray gold with etched sterling silver. Interior is stamped " 14K & Cu George Sawyer © M 6/09". The Style Number is RE6YG. The ring is size 10. The inclusion of the straight lines of a rounded edge lends a geometric contrast to the more random quality of the Mokume and adds a touch of formality, similar to a picture frame around a painting.
After studying the ancient Japanese art of folded and layered metal techniques know as Mokume, Mr. Sawyer created his own internationally recognized complex signature style from his Minneapolis, Minnesota studio. His use of color and pattern creates one-of-a-kind, continuous, seamless bands that reflect his passion for jewelry as art.
