About the Item
A striking round edge George Sawyer wedding band in the traditional Mokume style. This 8 mm ring features 14K red gold edges that surround sterling silver & etched copper. Interior stamp "14K, SS & Cu GS © 6/12". Style Number is RE8RSC; the ring is size 10.5.
The inclusion of the straight lines of a round edge lend a geometric contrast to the more random quality of the Mokume and adds a touch of formality, rather like a picture frame around a painting.
After studying the ancient Japanese art of folded and layered metal techniques known as Mokume, Mr. Sawyer created his own internationally recognized complex signature style from his Minneapolis, Minnesota studio. His use of color and pattern creates one-of-a-kind, continuous, seamless bands that reflect his passion for jewelry as art. Each piece is marked with Mr. Sawyer's signature and the date it was produced, copyright and trademark symbols, metal content and initial of the goldsmith.
