A vintage, one-of-a-kind, highly stylized 18 karat textured gold ring with Colombian emerald crystals and round brilliant diamonds, by Arthur King, United States. A GIA origin report accompanies this ring. Ring size 7. This ring is not sizable.
This is an iconic Arthur King jewel. The rough-cut emerald crystals and diamonds, pierce their way out of a typical King design of rough "branches" of gold. All of it is on a grand scale, stretching upwards along the finger. The ring is not only stunning when worn, but it is also an important collector's piece for its representation of the Arthur King style of making and design and of the period in which it was made, as well as for the size and origin of the emerald crystals.
Arthur King was a famous American mid-century jeweler with a Madison Avenue showroom, known for being self-taught and an advocate of naturalistic design using gold, paired with gemstones such as pearls, diamonds and often crystals in their raw, natural forms. King was also known for using the old jewelry technique of lost-wax casting. He owned boutiques in New York, Havana and Miami, among other cities and had a distinguished clientele.
