About the Item
A late Victorian emerald, ruby and diamond twin heart ring, the ring set with two interlocking hearts, one set with a pear-shaped emerald, estimated to weigh 0.15 carat, the other with a pear-shaped ruby estimated to weigh 0.12 carats, both claw-set to the centre of a rose-cut diamond cluster surround, with rose-cut diamond-set ribbon bow surmount, all set in silver to a yellow gold mount and tapered D-section shank, circa 1890, head measuring 1.3 x 1.2 cm, finger size M 1/2 , gross weight 3.5 grams.
This Victorian ring is in very good condition, with slight abrasion to the emerald and ruby consistent with age.
Tested as 18ct gold and silver.
A lovely and charming Victorian ring from the collection of Bentley & Skinner, the London jewellers by appointment to both Her Majesty the Queen and His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales. This ring features two hearts, one set with a pink-hued ruby and the other with a bright crème-de-menthe hued emerald. The hearts are linked by diamond-set frames and a diamond bow. This piece was made in the late nineteenth century and reflects the feminine and romantic style of the Belle Epoque style. This piece would make a beautiful and unusual engagement ring.
