About the Item
Dazzling oval Amethyst, 12.8 carats, set in 4 prong engraved Sterling Silver ring in perfect for all occaisions. This brilliant gemstone comes from our favorite supplier up in the mountains outside of Rio de Janeiro. It's a fabulous medium deep purple and flashes pink as you move your hand. It's a sizable 7. No changes by seller. Amethyst is the February birthstone and is said to protect from intoxication and evil spells. It will calm your spirit and give you focus. Pure quartz is colorless, but the most prized variety is Amethyst, the purple variety. It's always been considered a 'royal color' and is featured in the British Crown jewels. It was also a favorite of Catherine the Great and Egyptian royalty. For centuries this beautiful gemstone has been considered a symbol of power.

Kathy lives by the motto, "Go Big or Go Home," and fell in love with jewelry design when she met founder Hans Stern, a pioneer in designing jewelry with Brazil's vibrantly colored gemstones, Mr. Stern invited her to his workroom, shared his expertise - and she was hooked. Martha and Kathy met while living in Rio de Janeiro and they have been design partners and friends ever since.
