About the Item
A beautiful depiction of Victory seated (The Roman manifestation of the Greek Goddess Nike), holding a palm and patera is displayed highlighted by classic doubled twist wire accents in this Steven Battelle ring design currently sized 6.5. The palm frond was typically awarded as a symbol of triumph in Roman times, while the patera was a shallow dish used in religious ceremonies to make libations of wine to the gods. This particular small authentic silver quinarius coin was minted in 89 BC in the days of the Roman Republic before Julius Caesar, when the responsibility for minting coins rotated annually between between "moneyers". Moneyers were 3 men who were awarded the position, often placing their own names on the coins. This ring comes with a coin certificate of authenticity. It is resizable.

Eventually forming a partnership with a dedicated group of Balinese village goldsmiths using painstaking handmade techniques, they together create unique designs that incorporate those timeless and classic motifs. He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age.
