About the Item
Understated and elegant, and yet 600-odd years in the making. A half-carat emerald and a double halo of rose-cut white diamonds are set into 9-karat rose gold and blackened .925 silver. The piece is produced using an ancient Albanian technique that was brought to Palermo, Sicily, in the fifteenth century.
The ring is 15.60 mm lengthwise. It is 6.5 US/12 EU size and can be re-sized on request.
Custom pieces require 1 month to make and cannot be returned.
This collection represents an art form that corresponds to the rich history of Sicily's capital city. In the fifteenth century, Albanian immigrants arrived in Palermo, bringing with them a method of jewellery-making that has become known as the “cesellato” technique. This method was preserved almost exclusively within the small city for the next 600-odd years despite several invasions of the southern Italian island which brought materials, fashions and techniques to Palermo which influenced, but did not negate the core of the cesellato method. What exists today is a jewellery technique unique almost specifically to Palermo. The collection is all hand-made using the cesellato method and repeated shapes, metals and stones.

The FANCS V workshop is situated in the heart of Sicily's capital city, Palermo. The jeweller is a three-generation Sicilian family business owned and run by Simona Elia and her husband Natale Vitale. Created by Natale's grandfather, FANCS V has grown from a goldsmith shop into a design studio where Simona, who trained in Milan, contributes signature collections to complement the custom pieces Natale produces for a dedicated client base. For FANCS V, happiness is defined by the moment you receive your jewel and fall in love with it. Look for the company code PA266 stamped into all gold pieces, which indicate their authenticity.
