About the Item
An 8 x 10 mm brown-black cushion shaped rose-cut diamond is set vertically surrounded by a double row of handset "jawan" granulation on a semi-flat tapered matte-finish shank with similar triangular "jawan" motif at the sides. A great contrast between the dark luster of the diamond and the round granulation surrounding. A classic design!

Steven Battelle
After a chance trip to SouthEast Asia in 1987, Steven Battelle became fascinated with the jewelry and iconology from the ancient cultures of Egypt, Mesopotamia, Greece, and Asia. Eventually forming a partnership with a dedicated group of Balinese village goldsmiths using painstaking handmade techniques, they together create unique designs that incorporate those timeless and classic motifs. He incorporates primarily cabochon gemstones as well as ancient Greek and Roman coins, each piece capturing the feelings of a bygone age. If you wish to create your own special piece, similar to a style we make, please let us know, and we'll see what we can do.
