Dina González Mascaró "Open Book" architectural peripheral ring in white gold
About the Item
Artist and Jeweller Dina González Mascaró's "Open Book" ring from the series "simple folded" created in Vancouver Canada in 2010. Repetition of folded forms is used to create this sculpture for a peripheral finger (pinky, index or thumb). Three curved elements open to the outside of the ring and bend back onto themselves to join together at a tapered "spine" like an open book. The inside of the blades are textured with a hand file for a hatched finish to contrast the smooth polished outside surface of the curved slices. The hatched area has a blackened patina. Visual impact on all sides of this ring will attract attention of architects, designers and art lovers. A piece for bold collectors. As beautiful to wear as it is to display as a miniature sculpture.
