About the Item

A fine set of 4 silver salt cellars. By R&W Wilson. In coin silver. With shell shaped bowls supported on shaped feet. Each with an "AR" monogram. Simply a great set of salt cellars! Reference: See the Brooklyn Museum Decorative Arts Collection No. 80.241 for a comparison. Date: Early 19th Century, circa 1845. Overall Condition: They are in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition Details: Each has a monogram to the reverse. One has some oxidation at the joint of the foot. Otherwise, there is some wear variation to the condition of the gilding in the bowls, some indentations to the bowls here and there, some light edge wear, some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age. Engraved: Each with an "AR" monogram. Maker: R&W Wilson Marks: Each marked R&W Wilson to the base.
