32" Antique Early 19th Century, George III Old Sheffield Silverplate Tray

About the Item

Up for your consideration is this very large and extremely fine early 19th century Old Sheffield shaped oblong handled tea tray. The tray features a deep set, and heavily ornate scrolling border with elegant handles decorated with acanthus leaves to each end and finished with finely decorated scrolling feet. At the base is a superb foliate and floral chased and engraved decoration surrounding a central coat of arms, crest with lions and the motto "STRAIGHT FORWARD". The quality and craftsmanship throughout the piece are fantastic. Good condition, wear and copper showing through along edges and at bottom of feet. Unmarked 32 1/4" long with handles 21" wide
