Ferreras Green Velvet with Dalmatian, Vienna, 1956 – Miguel Ferreras' lustrous velvet suit was photographed with a Dalmation in the doorway of Vienna's Hotel Bristol for the August 13, 1956 issue of LIFE. The Dalmatian's history is as numerous and varied as its spots. The breed originated in Croatia but quickly found its way to Europe, especially England; it has been a bird dog, a trail hound, a retriever, and a hunter of both large and small game. The Dalmation's most recent and best known talent has been as a carriage dog; running in front of the horse drawn carriages of the elite and fire brigades alike, paving the way and guarding for danger. This talent, along with it's flexible temperament, lead to its continued use in Fire Companies to this day. The Dalmatian is emblematic of service in moments of emergency. Image size is 22" x 32" (for 24" x 36" paper size). All Mark Shaw prints are made to order in limited editions on Hahnemuhle photo rag paper. Each print is Estate stamped on the back and signed and numbered by David Shaw, and accompanied by a letter of authenticity. Chris Burden was at the forefront of the conceptual art movement in the early 1970s. Prelude to 220, or 110 is one of his most important works where the artist puts his life on the line for his art. Burden voluntarily lays on his back. His neck and wists are have copper bands that bolt him to the floor. To his immediate left and right are two buckets of water with a 110-volt line inside. If the buckets were compromised in any way by a passerby or an unexpected event - Burden would have been electrocuted in a literal shocking performance.

MODERNISSIMO series
Modernismo was conceived between 2012 and 2014 as a series of pure photography, marrying elements of the historical pop art movement and raw, undulating forms of the human body. Patterns become the focal point as lines of the body become the canvas. Rooted in high fash- ion, Modernismo celebrates optical illusion coupled with vibrant color, within a unique and malleable interpretation. Bekor focused on creating a series of intrigue and minimalism, working with classical elements of black and white photography and playing on the vulnerabilities of his subject matter. Images composed of unique lighting, contrasting colors, and bare skin evoke drama and sensuality within the series.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Internationally recognized photographer, Giuliano Bekor, holds a portfolio that includes work from the realms of fashion, beauty, celebrity, advertising, and fine art.
Giuliano’s photography has been featured in top publications around the globe, and his client list includes an endless file of beauty industry leaders, advertising agencies, celebrities, producers, and artists.

For Giuliano Bekor, a photograph is an image that comes into being consciously, composed of light, color, space and form. Rare 1979 Photograph of Jean Michel Basquiat
This rare Basquiat photograph was taken from Nicholas Taylor’s well-documented portfolio exploring his friendship with Jean-Michel Basquiat - a friendship which began when both collaborated on the historic New York No Wave band, “GRAY” in the late 1970s; before the two briefly lived together in the East Village. Selections from Taylor's portfolio were most notably exhibited as part of the Basquiat retrospective at London's Barbican in 2017 and have been featured in numerous noteworthy publications on Basquiat.

Whilst Basquiat often provided glimpses into his conflicted character through his own art, Taylor’s photograph offers an intimate, and perhaps more honest, portrait from the outside. The clever exploration of light and dark reveals the dichotomies that divided the artist; both his fragile and playful, tender and brazen sides are unveiled. A soft glow is cast across Basquiat’s face, communicating a tenderness and affection that only a close friend could capture.
About Nicholas Taylor
Nicholas Taylor (American, b. 1953) is a renowned photographer and musician. Taylor moved to New York in 1977 to pursue a career as a photographer and it was through the vibrant New York art scene that he came to know the young artist, Jean-Michel Basquiat. It was, in fact, his intimate portfolio of photographs documenting his friendship with Basquiat that rocketed Taylor to fame. The two would collaborate in the seminal No Wave band “Gray” and live together in the East Village, before Taylor launched a successful career as a DJ famous for track-looping. His track “Suicide Mode” would later be used in the soundtrack for Julian Schnabel’s 1996 film “Basquiat." Taylor has been directly referenced in at least two works by Basquiat and is responsible for first introducing the artist to Madonna before the two dated.
