Stylish Pair Graduated Brown Glazed Studio Pottery Moon Vases
Located in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire
A very well made and stylish pair graduated studio pottery moon vases believed to date from the 20th century and probably originating from the UK. The stoneware vases are lightly potted standing on flat narrow oval shaped bases and both are hand crafted in narrow round moon shape with short narrow funnel necks and slighted everted thicker opening. The vases are decorated in splashed tenmoku brown glazes on a red brown glazed ground with a linear pattern running diagonally across the bodies. Both vases have impressed marks which we have been unable to identify, one with a series of collectors paper labels suggesting possible makers. However we have been unable to verify any of these.
The dimensions provided are for the larger vase and the smaller example measures: height 16 cm, width 12.5 cm and depth 4.5 cm. Absolutely stunning display pieces...

Cotto medium vase by Mason Editions
Dimensions: 21 × 21 × 21.5 cm
Materials: Iron
Colors: cotto, sage green, black
The collection includes three objects with different shapes and functions. Mia’s decisive impression is given by the contrast created between the soft lines of the lower part and the use, for the upper part, of a strongly architectural material that is perforated metal sheet.
A divergence that is further highlighted by the marked squaring of the decoration chosen for the sheet, gracefully polished by the treatment in two finishes, brass or nickel, while the lower part is painted with opaque colors but with a strong materiality.
This wide-cylinder vase is a versatile chic...

Ettore Sottsass ceramic pink 'Shiva Vase' designed in 1971 and produced by BD Barcelona, Spain. The vase will ship in the original box and is in excellent condition.
Sottsass: “I continue to produce small, small, small architectures, such as this ceramic piece, for example, a little like monuments, a little like tombs, a little like the abandoned temples of the gods, a little like the ruins of the ancient and unknown civilization in which something –the say– was known; it is said that they understood the axes, the curves, the intersections, perhaps even the causation of the courses of the cosmic bodies, along which each day slide the private vertices of the atoms that make up our fragile flesh and...
