Modern Barn in Connecticut

Abandoning the expected decoration of barn architecture a strategy was chosen based on contrast when it came to furnishings and art. The choice of bright yellows and oranges, large scale patterns, modern art and midcentury pieces create novel relationships with the historic elements of the property. All the windows are left bare in order to allow the light in to push back against the heavy wood structure and to allow appreciation of the views.
