Wall Street Pied-a-Terre

Apartment by Marcia Tucker Interiors in New York, NY

This pied-a-terre for an international student is located in a downtown New York City pre-War building. The client asked Marcia Tucker to create a calm oasis, a place where this student could find and express her creativity. To inspire a sense of calm order throughout the apartment, Marcia designed built-ins to minimize clutter. She selected crisp colors (black, white, and gray with hits of yellow and blue accents), with very little pattern, to bring in some happy energy, and complemented this with the warmth of wood and leather. The wall- mounted, black leather-clad squares that create a headboard in the master bedroom are a clever and chic space saver. The reclaimed wood wall in the office adds warmth and acts as a nice counterpoint to the all-white office and adjacent bathroom.
