About the Item

This work is not an image but a process. It does not depict — it transforms. The fish form, repeated, deformed, layered, becomes a rhythm of inner movement — not bodily, but psychic. It is the language of the subconscious, where symbols shed their fixed meaning and become living organisms. The fish archetype is one of the oldest. In the collective unconscious, it embodies depth: instinct, intuition, secret knowledge. In Jungian psychology, the fish is a messenger from the darkness of the soul — from the abyss where language does not yet exist. In Christian tradition, it is a sign of salvation, a chosen vessel that carries one through the waters of chaos. Here, both meanings coexist and cancel one another — like a wave and its reflection. The composition is built on constant transition. It offers no ground: the eye gets lost among the lines, as consciousness does between states. Forms flow into each other, and none is final. This is a visual record of an in-between state — between what was and what will be, between image and formlessness, between the self and the shadow. Metamorphoses is an act of transformation in which there is no return to the previous form. As with true inner work, there is no way back. size of illustration 23-29 cm
