About the Item
Mixed media small scale figurative & abstract drawing on paper by Polish artist Eugeniusz Tukan-Wolski. At first glance, the artwork looks like an abstraction, however the tile 'A street at night' gives context and the shapes become more obvious as an architecture. Main colors are blue and orange.
Artwork is not framed, it is put into passe-partout carboard.
EUGENIUSZ TUKAN-WOLSKI (b. 1928, d. 2014)
He graduated from Academy of Fine Arts in Cracow in an atelier of Tadeusz Łakomski in 1957. He took part in many exhibitions in Poland as well as abroad, he had 15 solo shows, including 4 in USA (one in Kosciuszko Foundation). His paintings are part of collections of Center for Documentation Research of Pontificate of John Paul II in Rome, National Museum in Cracow and private collections.
