Professor Malcolm A Hollis was a chartered surveyor, arbitrator and professor of Building Pathology. He produced this architectural sketch while studying at the Liverpool College of Building. The study depicts details of the door at Rufford Old Hall. Hollis' accuracy is impressive: the clean lines all seem to be perfectly spaced, the presumably metal detailing on the door symmetrical and aesthetically pleasing. Rufford Old Hall is a historic Tudor manor house in Rufford, Lancashire, England. It was built in the 16th century and was the home of the Hesketh family for over 400 years. It is also notable as a stomping ground for the young William Shakespeare. It is now managed as a National Trust property and is a popular tourist attraction.
