Characters is an modern artwork realized inmid-20th Century in France. Original china ink on paper. On the back of the work there is a second drawing. Very good conditions. Characters is an excellent modern artwork realized in France in the half of the XIX Century and it shows us several characters in a high room. On the background there is a window with an iron grate. The work depicts also a nude figure on the back of the sheet. The second drawing is realized in pencil and shows us a female reclining nude.

Otto Schubert Pen & Ink Fairy Tale is an original pen & ink sketch 1927 from one of the artist's illustrations for a fairy tale. There is a father and mother fox talking to two younger versions of themselves. They are all dressed in human clothes at the door of their house with smoke coming out of the chimney. Next to the house is a tree with a mountain in the background and another house in the distance. There is gardening equipment here and there. In the foreground we see sketches of a rabbit in different poses with some writing in German below the middle image.The artis'ts pencil signature is bottom right. A rare opportunity to own an original signed sketch by this artist. There is a wrinkle in the bottom right side otherwise normal wear and in fair condition. Karl Max Otto Schubert ( 1892-1970 ) was a rising star in Dresden when the city was considered the cultural center of Germany. Allan Rohan Crite Animal Illustrations Signed lower left Pen and ink on paper 23 1/2 x 16 inches Brought up in Boston, Crite received his art training al the School of the Museum of Fine Arts and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Harvard University Extension School in 1968. He worked for most of his life as an illustrator in the Planning Department of the Boston Naval Shipyards, retiring in 1976, but continued to paint at the same time. His work has been widely exhibited and well received in Boston, where a square is named after him. Crite's early paintings depict the daily life of Boston's African-American community, a community that was to be transformed in the following decade by urban renewal and housing projects. In his later paintings, magic-realist visions in which a black Virgin and Child ride on public transportation or float above the city streets, Crite used a bright palette rather than the more somber tones of his "neighborhood paintings...
