About the Artist
Colette Wirz Nauke gathers inspiration from her surroundings and memories and fuses them with her imagination. She has been greatly influenced by Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, especially techniques used by Monet, Cezanne and Bonnard. She tries to use similar approaches in her own work. Colette spends her summer traveling throughout the US and abroad in search of her next muse. When she's not painting, she enjoys visiting art museums and going to parks in search of cherry blossoms in bloom. She currently lives in New York.

Her works use a variety of materials ranging from acrylic paints to photo transfers and collage. She currently lives in New Mexico and has been greatly influenced by the work of Robert Rauschenberg. She encourages viewers to search for their narrative interpretation when viewing a work.
