Dale May is a New York based, award-winning, advertising, entertainment & editorial photographer, who has been creating iconic images for over 18 years. Combining his background in painting and color theory, lighting and post-production, May works to make the unthinkable real and believable.
Best known for his richly stylized, character-driven, conceptual work, May has captured some of today's most recognizable personalities, including Daniel Day-Lewis, Charlize Theron, and Elizabeth Banks. May also has shot countless bands ranging from Black Sabbath to 30 Seconds to Mars, as well as the Broadway casts of West Side Story, 9 to 5, Hair, and most recently, Annie.
Although May has remained focused on his commercial career, his roots have always been firmly planted in the fine arts. He grew up 45 minutes outside of Philadelphia in Chadds Ford, PA. May's grandfather was a big-band drummer and band leader in the 20s and 30s, and his grandmother was a supper club singer. May played the drums from age five and was also artistically inspired by his neighbor, the American Contemporary Realist Painter, Andrew Wyeth.
May moved to NY to study painting, color theory, and art history at Parson's School of Design. The foundation of these first few years shaped his current aesthetic style and he graduated in 1993 with a BFA in Photography.

View AllMetallic Precision Cut Currencies Butterflies Flocking Target Illusions Ablaze
By Charles Patrick
Located in Greenwich, CT
This work is sourced directly from the artist.
Butterflies cut from International Currency and gold foil, arranged in the shape of a target, and pinned with stainless steel entomology pins to canvas. Framed in a white, wooden frame.
About Charles Patrick
Charles Patrick is best known for his intricately cut paper butterflies, suspended like museum specimens on individual entomology pins and clustered together to form icons, logos, and symbols against the backdrop of pristine canvases.
Living in a world between the paper and digital ages, these works conjure feelings of nostalgia for the tactility of paper, created from vintage comic books, children’s books, currency, maps, and other obsolete ephemera. This stands in jarring contrast to the clean, pixelated designs that the butterflies form which exchange individual emotion for the universal immediacy of today’s contemporary visual language. Targets, hearts, ohms, and stars pop from the canvas in three-dimension - a fresh departure from the flat screens that are the norm today.
With a background in vintage poster restoration, illustration, and printmaking, Charles Patrick combines his love of paper, art history, and design to create works that are both strikingly beautiful and poignantly thought-provoking.

A black and white collage by James Verbicky. Composed of a variety of materials that create an eclectic and thought provoking artwork.
James Verbicky (b. 1973) is a contemporary painter and mixed media artist who lived the majority of his early life in British Columbia before immigrating to the United States in the early 2000s. He struggled with legal status for many years before finally being awarded the ‘Extraordinary Ability’ Green card due to his extensive involvement with a wide range of museums, galleries, publications, nonprofit organizations, and philanthropic endeavors. In 2008, his work was selected for a 110 year-old juried exhibition at the Louvre with the Societie Nationale des Beaux-Arts.
Shortly after his exhibition in Paris, James found inspiration among the magazine vendors along the Seine, Verbicky at which point he began creating media paintings. These complex and sculptural mixed media artworks became his vessels for communicating about a society oversaturated by media. By utilizing rare historical content, including both obsolete and persisting brands and advertisements, as well as vintage graphics...
