Provenance: Commenoz Gallery, Florida
Catalan, Spanish painter Jordi Prat Pons is best known for his uniquely modern approach to the traditional still life. The works are characterized by bold use of color and manipulation of surface and texture through vivid, heavy brush strokes. His work is a synthesis between 17th C. Spanish painting, Abstract Expressionism, & Pop Art. Jordi Prat incorporates collage, resulting in distinctly abstract qualities. Despite the modern first impression given by his work, the roots of his approach extend back to the Golden Age of Spanish art in the 17th Century. The Spanish School of still-life painting played an important role in elevating the most insignificant objects to a new level of dignity and aesthetic dimension. The same metaphysical direction can be seen in his remarkably vivid 'bottle portraits'. He has worked with recycling objects, he started with bottle labels and now he uses books forming them into a sculpture paintings of famous artists and writers. He is a well known Catalonian artist in the tradition of Catalan culture of Antoni Gaudi, Joan Miro, Salvador Dali, Antoni Tapies and Pablo Picasso. He works in assemblage with sheets, plastics and the previously mentioned books. He does torn paper collage in the tradition of Burhan Dogancay, Mimmo Rotella, Romare Bearden, Henri Matisse Mark Bradford, and Peter Beard. Jordi Prat Pons boasts more than 20 solo shows and has participated in nine collective exhibitions. A widely exhibited artist, since 1987, Pons has participated in over 100 collective shows throughout Europe, the USA and Dubai, and 60 solo exhibitions across Europe, Mexico, the USA and Turkey.

Provenance: Oolite Arts, Miami Beach, where Collado was a resident artist.
DIMENSIONS: H: 30" W: 24"
As a child, Collado traveled between social structures: from Brooklyn, New York where she was born; to the Dominican Republic; to Miami, where her mother worked to become a tailor. Her use of construction materials summons the perception of a displaced personal and public history. She is a Caribbean African American artist with a Feminist leaning. In her practice, Collado displays an awareness of language conveyed through a keen analysis of identity, the latter referenced in her use of reclaimed literary texts and textiles, simultaneously opposed by various construction materials: wood, concrete, masonry brick, iron, and drywall. Materials with inherent geographic histories, processes, and economies imply varying degrees of personalized and public memory.
"My connections are grounded to an alternate imagination: a Caribbean imagination and an alchemic consciousness. The Dominican Republic is a culturally rich country. Our musical narratives, folkloric traditions, oral histories, spiritual and supernatural beliefs are complex and embedded in our everyday life. All these components shaped my perceptions, sensibilities, and life experiences. I am always seeing the world through a Caribbean lens".
Her artist residency fellowships include Bridge Red Art Center, North Miami, FL (2013-present), Project Row Houses, Houston, TX (2018), Oolite Arts, Miami Beach, FL (2019 – present), and the Joan Mitchell Foundation residency in New Orleans, LA (2020). She was awarded a South Florida Cultural Consortium Fellowship in 2021, and Ellie Creator Grant from Oolite in 2019, first place in the 2013 South Florida Biennial at the Art and Cultural Center/Hollywood, FL, and a Joan Mitchell Foundation Fellowship in 2018. Her work has been featured in group shows around the country including Perez Art Museum, Miami, FL; El Museo del Barrio, New York, NY; PRIZM Art Fair, Miami, FL; Storage Project Space, New York, NY; Oolite Arts, Miami Beach, FL; Project Row Houses, Houston, TX; Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami, FL; Patricia & Phillip Frost Art Museum, Florida International University, Miami, FL; The Franklin, Chicago, IL; Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, FL; and NOVA University, Ft. Lauderdale, FL.
Collado’s work was pictured in the Artforum Critic’s Pick, accompanying the review of Fragment, a group exhibition at Emerson Dorsch. In 2016, Collado had a one-person exhibit at the Museum of Art + Design at Miami Dade College, in collaboration with Bridge Red Studios. She had solo exhibitions with Dimensions Variable, Under the Bridge and Far Side Gallery in 2018. In 2019, an interview with her and Onajide Shabaka, mediated by Ryan N. Dennis, was published in BOMB Magazine. Her work is in the collections of Perez Art Museum Miami and El Museo del Barrio. Collado lives and works in North Miami, FL.

Bobby - Large Scale Colorful Original Pop Art Textured Portrait Artwork
By Alea Pinar Du Pre
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Alea Pinar Du Pre's original mixed media artworks portray human figures in a graphic pop-realist style. An enterprising autodidact merging technology and fine art, her vibrant contemporary pop-figurative artworks colorfully explore the territory between human reality and artificial reality. Her paintings portray the fact that our perceptions of solid reality are deceptively virtual. This unique collage is a part of her "Snapshot" series, as she explains:
"We consist of the same atoms, created billions of years ago in a supernova. And here we are living and breathing and experiencing life, and we think we are all so different. I think we are all the same, it’s just that are masks and poses are different. I love humanity and this game we are playing. With snapshot I am trying to capture the unawareness of the fact that we are the greatest wonder of the universe".
This one-of-a-kind 68 inch tall by 52 inch wide vertical artwork includes bright neon colors and sparkle. Pinar Du Pre's fusion of materials - acrylics, printed elements, and layers of gilt captured under an epoxy lens - represents the layered reality she aims to depict. The sides of this canvas are painted metallic and it does not require framing. Pinar Du Pre has signed, titled, and dated this original artwork...

"You'll Never Know" Mixed Media Figurative Collage Composition on Panel Board
By Jon Davenport
Located in New York, NY
This piece depicts a colorful collage composition portrait of Marilyn Monroe, as Jon Davenport explores the process of deconstructing iconic imagery from the past and present. Davenport start’s out with photos of his paint-stained studio floor and collages in articles/advertising from an array of vintage magazines collected over the years; plus any other interesting stuff captured on his travels. He then transfers the images to a panel board, layering them on with gel medium, together with strokes, splashes, drips, and splats of paint. Once it's dry, another layer of gel medium is poured on to give it a melting effect. After it drys off again, another layer of paint is added to embellish a few areas and to accentuate or fade out certain aspects. And then, he finally adds a coat of polyurethane for protection and making the colors pop. This unique work is executed on a wood panel board and comes ready to be displayed with hanging wire on verso, signed by the artist lower right.
Art measures 36 x 36 in
From biology student to owning and running a creative agency in London to a career as a fine artist, life has taken Jon Davenport on a rewarding and unconventional journey. Despite his scientific beginnings, he’s always had a strong artistic streak weaving its way through his different career paths. Growing up in Ipswich, UK, Jon was always an avid drawer, and could often be found with a pencil and paper in hand. With the arrival of his first computer, he embraced the new frontier of digital art and had work published in one of those early computer magazines.
His creative urges took a backseat to get a biology degree at Brunel University in London. It was afterward, in his first job working at the Archant newspaper group in Ipswich, that he quickly progressed from plate maker to becoming an integral member of the art studio. It was during this time that he taught himself photoshop, desktop publishing, and graphic & web design. After a few years, he set up a design agency, and eventually went full time and moved to London. This proved to be a successful move, working for a number of clients such as Nike and Virgin, and gaining praise from the likes of Richard Branson and Tony Blair.
It wasn’t until Jon moved to the USA to marry his wife, Atlanta artist Christy Kinard...
