An image which is beautiful, uplifting and has an ethereal feel to it. The painting is quite textured and needs to be seen in real life to fully appreciate the beauty of the gold leaf glistening through the leaves. Contemporary artist Sophia Chalklen sold online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Sophia has always had a strong passion for Art ever since she was a child. Sophia studied at Winchester school of Art where she completed a BA specialising in Textile design. After achieving her BA she went on to become a Freelance Printed Textile designer for a small company in London. Shortly after that she managed to get a job as a Fine Jewellery Designer for the Crown Jewellers, Asprey and Garrard Bond St. Sophia became a specialist in designing high end Jewellery, accessories, and ornaments for English and Middle Eastern Royalty and the Elite. She also designed a great variety of items including rings, Jewellery Suites, watches, cufflinks, Jewel incrusted clocks, tiaras and precious ornaments. Her eye for detail leant well to her career in jewellery design and she became an expert in her field. Painswick is an Original Oil painting by Eleanor Woolley. This painting was painted Plein Air in the Painswick valley overlooking the town of Painswick. The view is looking across from Edge common, the morning light catching yellows and pinks in the trees. The houses are nestled together, and look almost on top of each other from this view. The hillside beyond slopes beautifully away, slightly obscured by the light. Patches of green, yellow and blue are glimpsed through the mists.
