Early, post graduate, wall sculptures were abstract and mixed media for fifteen years. The move to Ventura County, Ca. in 1998, brought the opportunity for travel to Europe, each year with groups of students, to explore the great art and history of Italy, France, and Spain. The first year, in Italy, she began a new direction: Landscapes. The first was a plien air oil pastel of the view from the Boboli Gardens in Florence. Large paintings and oil pastels followed and include the “Narrative Pathways” series shown in Ventura College Gallery II in 2005. The first of the new Color Fields, Lavender Field VIII, was shown at the Ventura Music Festival show in 2006-2007. A number of the Color Field paintings were included as part of her recent Northern Latitudes, one person show at Ventura College, in September of 2008. 2009 One person shows were at the University of Maine, Augusta, May 28-July 6th, 10 Degrees of Latitude; at San Bernadino College, San Bernadino, California, November 16th- December 18th, 40 Degrees North. Upcoming shows for 2010: Studio Channel Islands Art Center, Camarillo, California, March 5th-April 10th, The North 40/ Purple Haze ; at Jonathan Frost Gallery, Rockland, Maine, August 13th-September 15th.
