About the Item
Monica DeSalvo’s “Forced Dyad” is a diptych with two 16 x 12 inch abstract acrylic monotypes on felt textured papers, matted and framed separately. On the left panel, overlapping fields of deep blue and purple accented with yellow expose an area of warm cream paper and a black line drawing. A red graphic shape and small dot overlay softer hues of blue, purple, and yellow printed on gray speckled stock on the right panel. Both prints were created with a Gelli plate. Each 10 x 8 inch image is in a white acid free mat with a white metal 16 x 12 x 0.825 inch frame with glass. The signature is on the back of each image.
Monica DeSalvo is a Boston-based mixed-media artist and designer. She received her BFA in Visual Design from the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth. Her work has been shown in many shows both juried and invitational and is a part of collections across the US and Europe. She is represented by Fountain Street Gallery in Boston.
