Nancy Pantirer incorporates abstract expressionism and collage into her canvases, letting the properties of paint and paper breathe invigorating narratives into our lives.
Specializing in many materials: acrylic paint, metallic paint, paper, and wood, Pantirer brings out the beauty of each material by exploring its chemical attributes, its organic interactions between complementary hues and different substances, and how it reacts to the forces of the Earth such as rainwater, sunlight. Pantirer's works are a reflection of the artist and her position in life, her relationship to nature, and how the artist's hand inspires and is inspired by the (un)conventional mediums of art.
Nancy Bergman Pantirer’s paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in both solo and group exhibitions throughout the country and can be found in collections such as the University of Hartford, as well as corporate and private collections. She also had works for public art installations displayed in New York, New Jersey, Washington DC, and Connecticut.
Nancy received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford, as well as a Master of Arts from Montclair State College. She further refined her craft through graduate coursework at Tufts University Museum School in Boston and Pratt University in New York.
“My work is primarily an investigation in visual thinking. The relationships of color, surface, composition, as well as experience, are addressed in the exercise of creating each painting…The variables in this investigation are color, arrangements, and rearrangements that offer the viewer a new visual understanding,” said Nancy.
