Artist Nicole Lamothe presents a bundle of fresh petunias placed in a clear rounded vase. "The petunias flourish in the garden, bathing in the comfort of summer's light. Cut and arranged in a clear vase, these red-violet and white petunias bring the warmth of the outdoors inside."

About the Artist
Artist Nicole Lamothe melds time and the beauty of nature in her nostalgic floral still life compositions. After Nicole's children entered college, she went back to school for her MFA and now devotes much of her time and effort into practicing and perfecting her artistic goals. The bouquets depicted in her paintings come from a variety of sources, including gifts of affection, purchased from her local florist or handpicked in her garden. Each of Nicole's oil paintings first starts out as a drawing. "When I begin a drawing for a painting, the flowers haven't bloomed," shares Nicole. "The flowers will slowly bloom and the final painting is a narrative of growth that takes place over the course of several days." In her free time, Nicole enjoys pottery, embroidery, sewing and tending to her garden. Her artwork has been exhibited in New York, California, Florida, New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Connecticut.
