About the Item

The body of work, titled "Anthropocene 2016-2018," explores the ways in which humans have impacted and altered the natural systems of the earth during what is known as the Anthropocene epoch. Through my art, I am chronicling the visible scars left on the earth's surface as seen from above, and questioning our impulse to alter the natural course of the planet's story through our actions. This body of work is focused on raising awareness of the ways in which humans have altered the planet, and encouraging viewers to reflect on their own impact on the natural world. By highlighting the visible scars left by human activity, I am drawing attention to the need for greater environmental stewardship and sustainability practices.

La Mer (the Sea)
By Jean Adele Wolff
Located in Palm Desert, CA
This painting was inspired by the many themes within my art. Duality is seen in the changing textures and colors, creating a strong sense of depth, concave to convex as well as dark to light. Emergence, another theme, occurs with each layer of paint. New forms start to emerge as if by magic, creating a sense of excitement and mystery. In this painting I hope to evoke the feeling of beauty as well as the challenges of the sea. Jean Wolff - Born 1947, Cleveland, Ohio Jean received her Bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Wisconsin. She continued her studies in sculpture and painting at Otis Art Institute, Los Angeles, CA and the University of California, Los Angeles. Jean Wolff’s artwork has been exhibited in numerous galleries and owned in public and private collections throughout the United States. Como Kobe - Dynamic Contemporary Sports Basketball Painting with Vibrant Colors
By Danny Brown
Located in Los Angeles, CA
Danny Brown’s artworks allocate an intrinsic connection between himself and the diverse communities occupying Los Angeles. Brown combines art history, streetwear trends, and pop art symbolism to create a signature style with a soft and fun, yet edgy character. He is willing to address a very unique point of view about social issues of our day with unmistakable perspectives. His artworks have the potential to influence a new generation of artists, incorporating diversity and respect for varying cultures. This one-of-a-kind acrylic painting on canvas measures 64 inches high by 50 inches wide. It is signed by Brown on the back. The artwork is stretched, wired, and ready to hang. It does not require framing. Free local Los Angeles area delivery. Affordable Continental U.S. and International shipping available. A certificate of authenticity issued by the art gallery is included. Danny Brown is a first-generation American urban artist born in Los Angeles. His parents relocated their family from Oaxaca, Mexico in search of opportunities in the United States. Brown uses his interest in fashion as well as his knowledge of color, design, and culture as inspiration for his paintings. The loss of friends to violence and incarceration, combined with the loss of a family member to gang violence pushed Brown to use art as a source of therapy and to project a positive inspiring image for his community. Brown’s art coalesces youth culture, art history, fashion, and American consumerism and melds them all to create his unique style. Instantly relatable and recognizable, his cathartic paintings represent contemporary issues as well as a demographic that is traditionally underrepresented in fine art. His works speak to young Americans and inspire a whole new generation of art collectors and admirers. Since 2016, Daniel Brown...
