About the Item
Thomas Wimberly III is an artist and designer from southern Louisiana. After earning his BFA in Graphic Design from Louisiana State University he has been acting as an art director and designer, both for agencies, and for himself as a freelancer.
Thomas currently lives in Baton Rouge with his wife, Brooke, and their bulldog, Macintosh.
Studio Number One’s Creative Director Shepard Fairey and Art Director Thomas Wimberly have been featured in a New York Times article about graphic designers and illustrators creating striking art about safety and gratitude during the current pandemic crisis. Their art was part of an open call for messages that promote health and public safety in the time of Covid-19 from Seattle-based design lab Amplifier.
The artwork by Shepard Fairey, “Angel of Hope and Strength,” was created to celebrate the courage of healthcare workers specifically, and generally symbolize the spirit of hope, strength, compassion, and resilience that everyone can find in themselves and share collectively.

I have always been a huge Star Wars fan and I cannot even describe how profoundly thrilled and honored I was when I was given the opportunity to work on the original Star Wars trilogy,†said Gabz. Although at first I planned on doing something clean, iconic and centered primarily around Luke Skywalker, in the end I decided to try to capture the most of Star Wars plot with very carefully picked characters and essential scenes from all 3 episodes. I would not like to reveal all the details so that the fans could discover all the hidden clues themselves. Thus, I will just say that I started building the composition around the Dark Side represented by Darth Vader and his conflict between the soon-to-become-a-Jedi-Knight, Luke Skywalker.
