About the Item
The tree, a universal and archetypal symbol, resides in the memory of all cultures. Like man, it stands tall between earth and sky, rooted firmly in the ground and driven by a desire to grow and flourish. Here, the tree is a testament to time, bearing its marks on its twisted trunk. The graphic and rhythmic strokes of the painting take us deep into the heart of the vegetal matter, where surface fragmentation gives form and meaning to invisible movements, revealing the energy and processes of life. Pseudo-letters appear in a horizontal band, echoing the central circle, without any clear message. The writing, a cultural memory, reminds us of our necessary dialogue with nature. Visually, it flattens the space and at the center of the circle, amidst the black and white, iridescent blues, yellows, soft violets, and pinks suggest the diffraction of light.
Titled "Arbor II", this original paiting is framed with wooden slats all around.

"Birch Woods", Surrealist Naive Primitive Night Landscape Acrylic Painting
By Henriette Gorbitz
Located in Clermont-Ferrand, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes
This artwork actually contains two landscapes. The inner landscape depicts a forest of birch trees at dawn or at dusk, with a purple sky and a fuzzy Sun. The ground is full of colored small flowers and plants. The outer landscape depicts a night green landscape through birch branches, with clouds and the Moon. Although both landscape can't actually merge, some branches of the inner landscape extends into those of the outer landscape, which makes this painting surrealist. Both landscapes are separated by a pink mosaic...
