About the Item

Lyrical abstract expressionist gouache on paper by French artist Michel Loiseau. Signed bottom right. Michel Loiseau-Rizzo, born in 1937 is an illustrator and artist living and working in Azerat in the Dordogne. A swirling whirlwind of greens offering up barely discernible figures, clothing and possibly musical instruments. This painting has great energy due to the sweeping brushstrokes and intertwining elements. Highly reminiscent of the work of Dutch artist Van Bram Velde, known for an intensely colored and geometric semi-representational painting style related to Tachisme, and Lyrical Abstraction. This painting has great movement and leans towards lyrical abstraction with its flowing lines. A painting to lose yourself in.
