About the Item
Vibrant and alive with rhythmic lines and color, oil on canvas from Stephen Henriques, who says, “Magnificent Color is my greatest gift”. A mid career California artist, Henriques, has also lived in South America. He is influenced by Bonnard and Vuillard, and inspired by music — specifically jazz music that he listened to when the western art form was new. When referring to his canvases that glow with layered high noon color, the artist says they are to be experienced slowly, like music, eating food or dancing. Color reigns in Henriques' delightful compositions that are at once, balanced, harmonious and a toast to life.
