About the Item
Stunning - bold - bright and colourful! All words that wonderfully describe this vibrant burst of colour on the wall!
The painting is by the relatively undiscovered abstract painter Isaiah Gerard Calleja (1936-2016), who was based in the South West of England. We have a number of his paintings - all of which came from the artists estate and are delighted to "announce" his work to the art collecting world.
The artists work was not prolifically exhibited - and as such not seen on the open market properly until now.
One can see influences of other period expressionist and abstract painters in his work - thickly applied impasto oil, amazingly bright swathes of colour intermingled with shapes and patterns. Painted on this large scale - it makes instant impact and looks most impressive.
Framed in a simple yet perfectly elegant wooden surround frame, ideally matched to the work - presenting it, yet not detracting.
The painting is stunning and we highly commend this artist to you.
