Yves Corbassière, born on May 16, 1925, in Montmartre, France, was a versatile French artist known for his talents in various artistic disciplines, including painting, sculpture, engraving, and lithography. His family background was rooted in industrial manufacturing; his grandfather, Auguste-Joseph Corbassière, had founded an earthenware company, while his father, Pierre Corbassière, expanded the business, operating factories in Sarreguemines and Paris.
During his childhood, Yves Corbassière developed a close friendship with the renowned pianist and polymath Boris Vian. This association likely had a significant influence on his artistic development. Corbassière also collaborated with the noted photographer Robert Doisneau, who provided him with images, including posters and postcards that depicted Corbassière behind the wheel of his Renault 6CV.
Corbassière's artistic achievements extended beyond the borders of France, with his work becoming particularly well-known in the United States. His creations found their place in more than 40 American museums, a testament to the impact and recognition he garnered abroad. In total, Yves Corbassière produced a substantial body of work, with his artistic output exceeding 5,000 pieces.
Tragically, Yves Corbassière passed away on April 27, 2020, in Poissy, France, at the age of 94. His legacy as a multifaceted artist endures through his extensive oeuvre, which continues to be celebrated and appreciated by art enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. To explore his specific artistic style, works, and exhibitions in greater detail, one may refer to art catalogs, archives, or publications dedicated to his life and art, or seek insights from art experts and historians specializing in his era and genre of art.

By Yutaka Takayanagi.
Medium - Relief and lithographic print
Edition - 19/20
Signed - Yes
Size - 615mm x 780mm
Date - 1976
Condition - Good. 9 out of 10.
Born in Tokyo in 1941, Takayanagi's artistic journey began when he enrolled at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1960, studying under the renowned oil painter Kaoru Yamaguchi. His talent was quickly recognized when he received an Honorable Mention at the 8th Shell Arts Award Exhibition in the same year.
During his time at university, Takayanagi took an intensive course in copper plate printing under Tetsuro Komai, receiving his degree from the graduate school in 1966. Fascinated by the simultaneous color print method, he started creating copperplate prints and soon gained recognition for his unique metallic reliefs, which he produced using collages of English newspapers.
Takayanagi's passion for experimentation led him to create metallic emboss reliefs using his own photographs, and in the latter half of the 1980s, he moved on to silkscreen prints. He continued to push the boundaries of his art, constantly exploring new techniques and mediums.
In 1978 and the following year, Takayanagi was appointed as an arts researcher for the Ministry of Culture and traveled to the United States, France, and the UK. These experiences enriched his artistic perspective and further cemented his reputation as a highly regarded artist.
Takayanagi was part of the influential printmaking group Sosaku Hanga, which emerged in the early 20th century in Japan. This movement emphasized the artist's involvement in every stage of the printmaking process, from designing the image to carving and printing the blocks.
Takayanagi's work often incorporates elements of nature and landscape, with an emphasis on texture and pattern. He also experimented with collage, incorporating found materials like newspaper clippings and photographs into his prints.
Takayanagi's work has been exhibited extensively in Japan and internationally, including at the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the National Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo. He has also received numerous awards for his contributions to printmaking, including the Japan Print Association Award and the Purple Ribbon Medal...

Keith Carrington
Artist statement:
A new series entitled "Infinity" deals with the concept of time being not linear but reoccurring past lives, meetings with different people that you've known from previous lives, correcting and releasing negativity from your past, and moving forward in a more fulfilled existence.
Keith Carrington’s experiences have led him to express his talents through the fluid & exacting mediums of watercolor & ink. He has honed his skills, clarified his vision, experimented, explored, and expanded his expression steadily over the years, the results of which thus far culminate here. Keith’s extensive travels have roots in the luminous quality of his work, eminently holding the utmost possibilities of beauty and significance.
Keith’s most recent paintings explore a spiritual path, he integrates them with transformative healing energies and infuses his enthusiasm into these dynamic pieces that you see here today.
