About the Item
Artist Commentary:
This is the second in a series of paintings about a cat that I inherited from my brother's ex-girlfriend. D.C. Rescue. He was tough little guy, and was always getting into fights and would come home with literally, borderline, mortal wounds on multiple occasions. He wasn't a big guy either, so we knew he was fighting way out of his weight class.
When he was hungry, he would find a spot in the room that impeded your natural line of sight, and just stare at you. I think of this less of a animal portrait, than it is an interior scene that an animal wandered in to. Love the rug, and just how weird the scene becomes with that off kilter stare that only Timmy the Killer knows how to throw.
Keywords: cat, killer, pet, animal, Timmy the Killer, carpet, rug, interior, living room, books, fireplace, painting, oil
Artist Biography:

In his work, Ben focuses on the human figure, landscapes, cityscapes, and animals in a variety of media and styles. Artist Commentary:
This picture took several turns trying to decide how and what the photograph on the wall would eventually be. I tried several different variations before I finally settled on the image that eventually drove the title and subject matter of the piece. Had a lot of fun amping up the color palette.
