About the Item

Claudia Griesbach-Martucci's "Daylight Dreamer" is an original, handmade oil painting that depicts a lamb in a peaceful trance surrounded by flowers, a butterfly and a bee. This painting is sold unframed, but comes ready to hang. About the Artist: Claudia Griesbach-Martucci was born in Monmouth County New Jersey, 1990. Claudia attended the School of Visual Arts undergrad in 2008 and went on to obtain her Master's Degree in 2012 under the program "Illustration as a Visual Essay." Claudia has worked as an oil painting assistant for Jeff Koons for 4 years, and now currently works out of her studio in South Street Seaport Manhattan. The subjects and landscapes Claudia chooses to paint are a direct influence from the things she enjoyed in her childhood. Growing up with both parents as working illustrators, Claudia was encouraged to rely on her imagination, nature, and the companionship of their many pets, which included rats, frogs, along with the typical cat and dog. She believes that using animals is the best way to explain our emotions in the purest form.

"Lamb", Oil on Canvas
By Renata Palubinskas
Located in Detroit, MI
This "Lamb" painting vibrantly pops with hyper-realistic color. It depicts a highly detailed lamb standing in against a blue background. Could it be an empty room? Could it be the sky? "Lamb" has a sweet look with its slight smile and holding a cute pink flower. Its awash in a cartoonish blue with clouds and cloudy farm animals. This pairs with the cow painting but is sold separately. Renata Palubinskas was born in 1968 in Kaunas, Lithuania, at the time still in the Soviet Union as the Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic. She received her diploma in Fine Art and Restoration from St. Zukas Technium of Applied Arts in 1989. After working at the M.K. Ciurlionis State Museum of Art, she emigrated to the United States in the 1990s, basing herself in Detroit. Renata's work rethinks historic iconography while intentionally addressing the modern world through a new perspective. The characters in her paintings are often caught between the struggle of good and evil. That struggle represents the choice of trying to obtain immediate gratification or realization of the self, and the haunting life experiences with latent possibilities for death. Renata uses schematic compositions with purposefully positioned figures and other visual elements. To attract attention to the most significant figures, she often ornate their garments with intricate patterns. They are typically placed in either a serene landscape or an interior setting with a threatening presence around them. Her work has been exhibited in Collected Detroit...

"Baa-Relief" Aaron Bohrod, Pun Humor, Magic Realism, Sheep, Lamb
By Aaron Bohrod
Located in New York, NY
Aaron Bohrod Baa-Relief, 1986 Signed lower left Oil on gesso panel 8 x 10 inches Aaron Bohrod's work has not been limited to one style or medium. Initially recognized as a regionalist painter of American scenes, particularly of his native Chicago, Bohrod later devoted himself to detailed still-life paintings rendered in the trompe l'oeil style. He also worked for several years in ceramics and wrote a book on pottery. Born in 1907, Bohrod began his studies at Chicago's Crane Junior College in 1925, and two years later enrolled in the Art Institute of Chicago. But it was at the Art Students League in New York City, from 1930 to 1932, that he studied under the man believed to be his most significant early influence, John Sloan. Sloan's romantic realism is reflected in the many depictions of Chicago life...
