Two brightly colored macaws soar across a frozen expanse, where towering glaciers rise against a brooding overcast sky. In the foreground, an animal skeleton lies half-buried in ice near the water’s edge. The unlikely pairing of tropical birds with an arctic landscape creates a striking visual tension that resists explanation.

About the Artist
Artist Eric Vanasse creates compositions that honor the resilience and spirit of nature. "I am driven to explore ideas and emotions connected to the environment and its living beings, especially those most vulnerable," says Eric. He hopes his paintings will reveal themselves over time, inviting reflection on our world and its wildlife. Eric paints in a corner of his own intimate gallery, where he also teaches classes and listens to eclectic music. When he’s not making art, he enjoys playing piano, learning languages, and walking in nature.
